Faculty-wide PhD courses

All faculty-wide PhD courses at LTH are listed below. Most courses are taught in English. PhD courses give credits in Ladok.

We prioritise applicants for our PhD courses based on the date you started your PhD. This means that the longer you have been registered, the higher up on the applicants’ list you will find yourself. It also means you will be offered a seat - although you may sometimes have to apply more than once.

You will be informed whether you have been admitted to the course around four weeks before the course starts.

CEE also run pedagogical courses. A few of our courses are both faculty-wide PhD courses and pedagogical courses, and in those cases they both count as qualifying courses in higher education pedagogy and give Ladok credits.

Mandatory courses

The courses Introductory Course for Newly Admitted doctoral Students and Research Ethics are mandatory for all doctoral students at LTH. In addition, there may also be other mandatory courses within your subject, as stated in the general study plan.

The course Introduction to Teaching and Learning in Higher Education is mandatory for those who teach as a departmental duty. The course is given in both Swedish and English.
